About

About 10 years ago, I thought to myself, "There is no one selling  Iñupiaq doughnuts to the summer visitors (tourists)  and locals".  From that point, I recalled my Mom's affection for baking & wonderful childhood memories of visiting Aaka's & Ataata's place. You can guess why I called my business, "Aaka's Place".  We started off as cottage food/hot food market vendor and grown into an Indigenous comfort food caterer. We'd like to share with you some of our comfort Inupiat foods, Especially our Iñupiaq doughnuts.
